35. How many hours/day and what months do the children attend school? Describe the school environment. The children do not attend school. There is a church-run school nearby. School runs 9:00-2:30 (5-1/2 hours/day) from late September through end of July with a 15 day break in February. 36. What type of health care do you receive? There is one clinic three hours away. We go there for emergencies, when the kids are very ill. Zenebu went to the clinic for problems with her last pregnancy. We discovered the importance of health care when our last child was born. The clinic we go to is Holeta Health Center run by the Finnish Mission. 37. What form of birth control do you use? None. We're very willing to use birth control but don't know how and have no source of information or supply. 38. Does your family feel safe? We are not threatened by crime, but are very threatened by the economy and (our crops) by nature . 39. Do you lock your door at night? No. 40. Have you ever been robbed? No. 41. Do you do anything to protect yourselves? We have just a stick if needed and a dog. Family Leisure 42. Describe what you do during your leisure time. We have no leisure time, except for the children playing at home and the coffee ceremony (3 drinkings) when neighbors come to chat for 20 minutes. There is a religious gathering once a month, called Mahber, one for women, one for men. It is held in the name of a saint.
